Producers are being Blackmailed says President of Producer's Council

18/12/2013
Keyar, the President of the Producer's council addressed a burning issue in our industry at the audio launch of Ennamo Nadakkadhu. Keyar said there were namely three associations - Producers Council, Producer's council Guild and the Film Chamber of Commerce to register movie titles.
Some people are registering titles at the Guild and Chamber of Commerce because charges are less there and then after registering the title, they wait fo the right oppurtunity to create an issue over the title being similar to their and use it to blackmail money from the big producers. For example incase of Ivan Vera Mathiri just days before release of this movie, some group registered a title Ivan Oru Mathiri to blackmail the producers for a sum of 7-8 lakhs to change the title.
This situation should change and proper regulations must be made said Keyar. he also added that they are working on joint action committee to sort out of the issue.

Clouds of uncertainty still surround Thala Ajith's Arrambam movie. Directed by Vishnuvardhan co-starring Arya, Nayanthara, Taapsee, Rana Dagguabati and many others, the movie is currently being promoted as a Diwali release.
However a recent case on Producer A.M Ratnam demanding he pay off the old debt he owed during the time of his K.D Movie and the condition to not release the Arrambam movie until these debts have been settled have created more confusions. Add to that the public request of Keyar, the President of Tamilnadu Film Producers Council who suggested during the Audio Launch of Vishal's Pandinadu that Ajith should postpone his release of Arrambam movie to help out other Diwali releases.
Though the wave after wave of trouble seem to affect Arrambam, The promotion of the movie as a Diwali release are at full swing.
The latest update is that the Arrambam team have totally wrapped up the entire the post production work including Re-recording and have applied for Censors today. It's to be noted that among the three Diwali releases which has been scheduled, Arrambam will be the first film to be censored which will definitely give a clear advantage for a Thala Diwali !!

Tamil Film's Producers Council (TFPC) President Keyar who participated in the audio launch of Vishal's Pandinadu movie had this request placed to Thala Ajith
"It's my personal wish that all the movies that are released for Diwali should do really well. Earlier times there were more than 2800 theatres, but today there are just 900 theatres out of which only 300 are in multiplexes.
In this situation, Thala Ajith's Arrambam is set to release for Diwali, If thala movies releases then there is no doubt that it would be Thala Diwali for everyone, But Since other movies are also releasing, If Thala could just release his movie after one week then it would be good for everyone".
