As SS Music earlier reported, There was an official complaint filed against Vijay Sethupathy in Producers Council by Studio 9. According to the complaint Vijay Sethupathy who had earlier committed to a film titled Vasantha Kumaran for the production company failed to respond properly.
Now the latest is that the Chairman of Studio 9, RK Suresh has sent out a press release stating they have decided to quit due to heavy loss caused by Vijay Sethupathy
"Dear Friends, As you all know, Studio 9 was the backbone of quality movies like Salim, Thangameengal, Idharkuthaane Aasai Pattai Balakumara, Soodhu Kavvum, Paradesi, etc. We have Mahabalipuram and Aaah in our line up. Though we were successful, we have received a heavy loss because of Vijay Sethupathi who agreed to make a movie (Vasanthakumaran) for us but didn’t. He has even taken an advance payment for the movie but is neither giving his dates nor responding properly for our calls. This has been the case for the past one and half years. We have helped his movies Soodhu Kavvum and Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara to achieve big time. And what he is doing to us is really disheartening. In lieu of the financial loss just because of this we have decided to stop all our works related to cinema. Mahabalipuram will not be released and all the other productional works are put to an end. We quit."
