Versatile actor Prakash Raj is currently directing a Trilingual Un Samayal Arayil for which Maestro Ilayaraja is the music director. Recently when Prakash Raj visited Ilayaraja's music studio there was Director Bala who had been working on his film Tharra Thappattai and Ilayaraja had actually gone out.
Director Bala played one of the song composed by the Maestro for his film and when Prakash Raj listened to the track he was reportedly moved to tears and said to Bala that he will fall on the feet of Ilayaraja when he comes, Incidentally when National Award actor met Ilaiyaraaja and even the maestro was touched on witnessing the love of Prakashraj and Bala on his music.

Actress Vedhika who was struggling to make a mark in Kollywood in movies like Sakkarakatti, Kaalai, Malai Malai made the biggest impact with Bala's Paradesi. The actress opened up in a recent interview on how Paradesi changed her life.
"'Paradesi' was the one film that was life changing. It gave me the platform to showcase my acting skills, and helped me carve my own niche in this competitive industry. People still recognize me as ‘the Paradesi girl’ and it is a big compliment. Bala sir, gave me a complete make-over in the film, and has potrayed me in a dusky-skin tone".
"All those rumours that I stood in the hot sun to become dark is utter rubbish. I never did anything of that sort. Neither did Bala sir force me to do something so drastic. Contrary to what people say, he is not someone who tortures his artist in anyway. He is a very sweet person to work with. After the release of the film, Bala sir presented me a beautiful painting of an extract from the film 'Paradesi', which is one of my most cherished possessions. I was moved to tears when I received it,”

Adharva, one of the few kollywood stars who has made a huge impact in such short span of time is currently shooting for Irumbu Kuthirai .The actor proved his acting prowess in the critically acclaimed Paradesi movie. The actor in a recent interview opened upon the much famed and hotly debated making video(Titled Reality in the Making) of the movie where Director Bala hits the artists with a stick. The video got such negative reviews from even actors within the industry like Siddharth and Udhayanidhi Stalin. Here is what Adharva had to say
"Bala Sir would never do that to anyone. Only people close to him would actually know how sweet he is. In fact, the stick that he used was not real. It was just to show us the intensity and the emotion of the scene. If Bala Sir offered me another film in the near future, I would do it without any hesitation. I have a great respect for him. Also, when we get involved in his film, it’s a completely different world. One would know the meaning of the real art of acting.”

Director Bala who lets his movies speak more than he does, interestingly opened up in a talk show for a recently opened Tv Channel. The Director shed light on some dark secrets about his much famed Naan Kadavul project which initially had Ajith playing the lead role only to be replaced by Arya later.
Bala revealed that all the news about he employing goons to physically attack Ajith and he abusing the star verbally were all just rumors. Bala said "If you want to know the real reason ask 'Ultimate Star'. Bala went on add that the chain of beads he wearing was gifted by Aghoris in Varanasi which was made of the backbone of 108 dead people.
The ace director also interestingly revealed that he was impressed by Mysskin's Onayum Attu Kuttiyum and said Mysskin was a boon of the film industry.

Actor Arya is currently bathing in the glorious success of his Raja Rani which has stormed the younger generation with its feel good love story. However Arya is already setting his sights on yet another huge blockbuster in Arrambam where he shares screen space with Thala Ajith.
The Kollywood hunk revealed in a recent interview that Ajith was fantastic co-star and it was fun to be with him. Arya even revealed how Ajith used to rag him all the time during the shoots and how he it took it all lightheartedly. Arya also answered another speculation that he was part of Director Bala's upcoming project stating that Bala must have had enough of him after the two films that they have earlier worked together.

Bala's dream project Paradesi might have not been totally welcomed by its own home crowd who raved on about how depressing this movie was but the same movie has been nominated for 8 awards at the London International Filmmakers Festival (LIFF)
Yes for the first time ever a Tamil movie has been nominated for no less than 8 categories Best Film, Best Foreign Language Feature Film, Best Director of a Foreign Film and Best Director of a Foreign Language Feature Film. It is also nominated for Best Music (GV Prakash Kumar), Best Cinematography (R Chezhiyan) and Best Lead Actor (Atharva Murali) and Best Costume (Poornima Ramaswamy).. The prestigious event has been scheduled from October 12-18th.
Its kinda ironic if you the think the same movie was awarded with a 'Single' National Award, that too for just the Best Costume Designer. We at SS Music hope and wish the legendary Director Bala bags the maximum awards possible !!

We at SS Music believe that Chiyaan will opt for Director Bala which would complete the Hat-trick after Sethu and Pithamagan. Initial reports even had that the test shoots for the movie was done whilst Vikram took a break from the ongoing "I" movie.

Surya one of the top notch actors and the third and final piece in the Holy Trinity of Kollywood Kings along with Thala and Thalapathy. Surya in a recent interview opened up and to reveal what really made Surya the man he is now
"I was scared I'd be thrown out of the industry, because back then I didn't know to act, i neither had confidence nor a good memory power. My dancing skills weren't even decent enough nor did i have stylish fighting skills. But the important thing was i was ready to learn. I think my sincerity was my biggest strength and not for one second did i thought of giving up".
Surya revealed that it was a train journey with Raghuvaran that changed his perspective about his own career, the late versatile actor gave him the confidence he so dearly lacked and helped him to create his own identity. Surya also added that it was Director Bala who shaped up the actor he is today.

Actress Pooja in Kollywood Movie by a Hollywood Director
Actress Pooja who was last seen in Bala's critically acclaimed Naan Kaduval is back. Pooja took her time off after bagging every award there was for her performance in Naan Kaduval. Pooja is currently acting in film titled 'Vidiyum Mun' which is directed by Balaji Kumar.
Balaji Kumar is commercial and feature film director who previously directed a Hollywood movie titled '9 Lives of Mara'.
Vidiyum Mun is reportedly a story about two ladies who are trying to escape from 4 Evil Men.

Vikram's next with Director Bala
There were numerous rumors of Bala and Vikram teaming up once again following their Sethu, Pithamagan. Now the rumors have indeed come true as official sources confirm that Vikram has indeed been signed up by Director Bala once again.
Sources also reveal that a official photoshoot has been planned on 10th of this month and the shoot for a song which has already been composed by G.V Prakash will begin immediately and will last for 20 days after which Vikram will once shift to the shooting schedule of Shankar's 'I'.
As SS Music earlier reported Atharvaa Murali has also been roped in for the same project , G.V Prakash Kumar and Cinematographer Chezhiyan are also part of the crew.

Though Atharvaa excelled in Bala's Paradesi he is still waiting for that one major commercial hit to establish himself in the kollywood circle. However from what sources reveal it looks like Director Bala is determined to give Atharvaa that big break by signing him yet again for his next flick.
Atharvaa was originally the first choice for Aishwarya Dhanush's Vai Raja Vai but Atharvaa couldn't accommodate dates for this movie has he had already given the bulk of his dates to Bala. Still Aishwarya persisted by making a personal request to Bala to spare some dates for her movie. Bala no matter how hard he tried was unable to adjust his shooting schedule, that's when Aishwarya opted for Gautham Karthik.
Unofficial sources also reveal that Vikram Prabhu has also been roped in by Bala to play a crucial role in this movie.

Bala's Reality Teaser Effect on Vivek
Vivek who has been out of the scene for a while, is making a comeback with a movie titled Machan.He plays the lead role in it , Vivek who is known for his witty humor is well known for combining his humor with current causes which are affecting our society.
Vivek is also a no nonsense artist , does not get involved in any sort of controversy with his humor.So when a controversial situation popped up in this movie , he has taken proper precaution and handled it in a very smooth fashion.
Last month when the team of Paradesi released a reality teaser which showcased Director Bala enacting scenes by hitting his actors.It created a huge stir in the industry , prompting industry insiders to term Bala a maniac.Vivek having seen this teaser did not want to get himself in the receiving end of Bala's stick so he called up the director to ask him if he is alright with a particular situation where his name gets involved in the scene.
In the movie Vivek's character succumbs to rags from riches , a by passer observing this situation of Vivek tells him he should rather act in a Bala movie than to be like this.To this Vivek replies that every actor who worked with Bala is in pretty much the same state as him. Bala apparently has seen the good side of this humour and has given a green signal for this scene.

The National Award winning director received no support whatsoever from his own film community, When Bala was Interviewed recently post the success of Paradesi here is what he had to say
"I love to be joyful in the set while working with artistes however if I do that some may take it as an advantage which I do not prefer. I can understand why non artistes being angry for the “Reality Video” but cine artistes opposing it is childish! They should know what is cinema, why are you in cinema field without knowing the meaning of “Making” ?
When questioned on why his films were always dark in nature he said
"I do not have the desire to do a colorful film, I was born in dark vicinity hence I want my films to be in that tone. A colorful film will have 5 songs, comedy segment, and actions. Songs will be choreographed by choreographer; actions will be done by stunt master, comedy will be done by comedian, then what’s the job of the director? I do not wish to be a bystander and put myself as a director".

Director Bala - A Legend Or a Maniac ?
Controversies and Kollywood have become the thickest of friends in 2013.
Controversies are only getting better every month, they seem to be creating a buzz around the release of a particular film, be it negative or positive film makers don't care about it as long as it's creating unpaid publicity for their film.

Bala is not a new comer to the film fraternity, he is an acclaimed national award winning director who has won several praises from people belonging to cinema world over. Surya and Vikram were given their first major break from him, likewise Arya and Vishal were the leads in Bala 's recent films. No one until now have voiced any sort of negative opinion about the director. With the video going viral on the social media and with directors and actors condemning this act by Bala in the teaser, this opens a whole new debate on whether people in the cine industry aren't aware that directors use such methods to extract performances or are they against such an act. Will the kollywood fraternity showcase the same support it did for Kamal Haasan during Vishwaroopam or will Bala be left alone to face his own battle ?

Director Bala's Sani Bhagavan
Bala's latest Venture 'Paradesi' has managed to stir up a huge controversy with the reality teaser which was released yesterday. Bala initially titled this movie 'Sani Bhagavan' then changed it to 'Kallarai Thottam' before finalizing on 'Paradesi'.
Bala's last venture 'Avan Ivan' was a total disaster in terms of its box office collections, and the advance booking of Paradesi wasn't blasting the record either , that was when this controversial 'Reality trailer' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtTgUIvn2Q4 was released. It immediately got people talking about the way Bala hits his co-actors, the sheer brutality in its making so on, thus achieving the first target of marketing 'getting people's attention'.
But this marketing strategy as its flaws too, as several celebrities and upcoming directors have voiced their concern and have decided to boycott the movie , even though the concerned actors have detailed out saying it was just a dummy stick made of sponge.
With Paradesi set to release on friday would people be then still talking about the sheer brutality of director Bala or sheer genius in making such a classic, Only time will tell.

Reality or Brutality ?
There is a very thin line between showing realism in cinema and being barbaric in nature.Director Bala's B-Studios have released a video on YouTube which features the making of his Paradesi. This video features Bala explaining his actors to kick ,slap and act naturally . He himself has slapped and kicked a old man and the worst of all he kicks a lady who seem to be terribly scared in the video.
It looks a publicity stunt from the director after his previous movie Avan Ivan bombed at the box office.
Controversy sells all right , but this form of barbarism is unacceptable and it sets a very bad standard for film making.This is what few of our Kollywood celebrities tweeted after seeing this disturbing video

Kamal Haasan & Gouthami in Bala's Next ?
Director Bala who is eagerly waiting for the release of his 'Paradesi' is linked with Kamal Haasan for his next. Reports had it that Bala had managed to rope in Kamal Haasan and had also convinced Gouthami to be part of this movie.
But Bala denied this saying " Presently my concentration is on my film Paradesi which is set to release on March 15th, I don't have any ideas of making a film with Kamal, These rumours are just someone's imagination and there's no truth in it".
Meanwhile a leading newspaper had reported that Kamal Haasan has signed up with Aascar Films for his next venture following 'Vishwaroopam 2'

Ameer Should be Punished Says Director Bala
As SS Music reported earlier 'Ameer' made a shocking revelation about the Censor Board behaving like a gang of Mafias and demanding bride money for issuing 'U' Certificates for 'Aadhibhagavan'. Director Bala though had something to say regarding this "Censor Board's procedure is perfect and there is no room whatsoever for corruption in Censor board, Its very childish to oppose a government organisation and people who comment against the censor board should be severely punished".
It is very important to note that 'Ameer Sultan' started out his career as a Assistant Director to Bala in his National Award winner 'Sethu'.

Bala vs A.R Murgadoss on March 15th !
The two heavyweights of Kollywood are set to go one on one on March 15th. Bala's periodic flick 'Paradesi' featuring Atharva, Vedhika and Dhanshika is all set to hit the screens on March 15th , similarly A.R Murgadoss joint venture with Fox Studios 'Vathikuchi' starring Murugadoss's brother Dileepan and Anjali is also stated for release on the same day.Let's wait and see as to which director is victorious !!
