Vishwaroopam case hearing postponed to Tuesday

The High Court of Madras has postponed the hearing of the case that's been surrounding Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam, to Tuesday. The verdict which was due to be announced today, will decide whether or not the movie should be released in Tamil Nadu. The government has urged Kamal to meet the officials to get his way out of the issue. The court has also revealed that it is worried about the unity and Law-and-Order of the nation and will take everything under consideration before giving the judgement.

Kamal Haasan, the brave Heart he is, is ready to face the challenge thrown against him. Vishwaroopam was banned on 25th as a result of Muslim organizations claiming that the movie seems to be portraying their religion in bad light. Following the ban, Kamal Haasan has drawn huge support on his side, with many celebrities and the film fraternity lending their support.

Let's hope that the issue gets sorted out amicably and the Genius Kamal Haasan sets a landmark in the film industry.

The 10-second smooch scene which took 4 hours to shoot

Gautham Karthik and Thulasi Nair in Kadal
From the trailer of Kadal, it is evident that a passionate smooch scene is part of the movie. Further digging in to the making of this scene, it is heard that the scene which is said to last only for 10 seconds, was shot for 4 hours as the heroine Thulasi Nair was very much concerned about shooting the scene in the presence of huge crowd and film technicians.

Director Mani Ratnam, the perfectionist he is, after vacating his technicians, had to go for several takes to bring the best out of the pair for the scene. Kadal, being one of the most expected movies of the year, is advertised in all media with the release date as February 1st.

Ilayathalapathy may not be Thalaiva?

The first look and poster of A.L Vijay with Ilaythalapathy combo was released a few days back. The title "Thalaiva" has triggered massive expectations among the kollywood fraternity and has made everyone rave about the title ever since it was annouced. "Thalaiva" was so catchy that it went viral all over the social media minutes into the launch of first look poster But rumour mill has it that the title may undergo a change since the media and public have started to speculate that the movie might be based on Vijay's political ambitions even though Vijay has come out and publicly denied it.
What do you fans think, Will the title be changed or Will it remain "Thalaiva"?

Kamal gets the Giant's support

Kamal Haasan and Udhayanidhi Stalin
Kamal Haasan's well renowned project Vishwaroopam, which is all set to release on 25th January is gearing-up for a gargantuan opening worldwide. The film will be screened in 500 screens across the state. The latest buzz is that, Udhayanidhi Stalin, the owner of Red Giant movies, may involve in the distribution of the film. Udhayanidhi is well known for his talents in film distribution and production and his alliance with Kamal for Vishwaroopam, could assure the latter maximum number of screens across the state and the best ever results at the box-office.

Kamal and Udhayanidhi have already collaborated in 2010 for Manmadhan Ambu and Udhayanidhi, at that time revealed that he is a big fan of Kamal Haasan. We will have to wait and watch what and how much this fan would do to his idol.

Venkat Prabhu upholds Karthi

Venkat Prabhu, Karthi and Premji Amaren
Karthi, a happy man in personal life, hasn't been backed by the Tamil audience for his Alex Pandian which released for Pongal. This movie which released amidst huge expectations is on the verge of becoming a disaster at the box office as the word of mouth has been bad since day one. The fans and audience took their feelings about the movie to the social networking sites. When they took it to twitter about Alex Pandian and Karthi – Venkat Prabhu, the director of Karthi's next film Biriyani decided to back his hero. He has lent his full support to the actor by saying, it's the director of the film who should be blamed and held responsible for it's awful screenplay and not the actor who just plays the character.

Venkat Prabhu in his tweet, said:
"In Alex Pandian, Karthi did justice as an actor and producers backed it up well as a product! I don't see why people are annoyed. When a big actors movie bonk at the box office how can it be the directors fault? Guys now understand, no matter what, writer/director is the key. Actors only deliver performance and I am not supporting his films!! Give credit to the right person is what I am asking.”
UTV’s Dhananjayan in support of Venkat Prabhu’s view has tweeted:
“Well said sir. Directors are the Creators and they make it happen finally. Artistes or Producers can only do their best.”
With all this support falling in the hands of Karthi, we have to wait to see if Venkat Prabhu, who is directing Karthi, can save his own dignity by doing justice to his words which may turn against him if Biriyani fails to impress the audience.

"I’m not a politician" - Ilayathalapathy Vijay

Article about Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Thalaiva with Director A.L.Vijay
‘I’m not a politician’

…says Ilayathalapathy Vijay about his role in his upcoming flick Thalaivaa with director Vijay!

The poster of the Vijay-Vijay film came out and everyone has been buzzing about how the movie looks like a film involving politics and Vijay donning the role of a politician. When CT asked him whether he played a politician in Thalaivaa, Vijay said, “No, the movie has nothing to do with politics.” He preferred not to reveal more about the flick. The producer of the film, Sunil Chandraprakash Jain, also denied the film has any political undertone. He said about the title, “We zeroed in on Thalaiva because it suits Vijay’s image and the film’s story. Even the poster is designed keeping it in mind. The film has nothing to do with politics.”

The Ilayathalapathy’s political ambitions have always been much debated about and any movie relating him to politics gets the audience talking. Last year, he had stated that he would enter politics at the right time. Thus, he’s constantly asked when he will officially enter the political race. Recently, when asked what politics meant to him, Vijay said, “Everyone should vote.”

Kanna Rendavadhu Laddu Thinna Aasaiya?

Powerstar Srinivasan and Santhanam in Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya
Seems like Santhanam who has had the first laddu couldn't get enough of it and is hence aiming for another.

Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya(KLTA) is emerging as a winner among the Pongal releases. Following the success of the film, the producer-cum-actor Santhanam is planning for a sequel. Powerstar revealed that Santhanam called him and said he has plans of doing a sequel.

KLTA stars newcomer Sethu, Powerstar, Vishaka Singh and Santhanam himself for whom it is the first production venture. Manikandan has directed this film with cinematography by Balasubramaniem. Thaman has scored music for the film. It's a really good start for Santhanam as a producer and we hope he invests on more good films and different genres in the future.

So, will "Kanna Rendavadhu Laddu Thinna Aasaiya?" which describes Santhanam's situation and desire aptly, be the title of the sequel as well?
