Eros are giving Sony Music a run of their money by acquiring the biggest projects in Kollywood. After acquiring Ilayathalapathy's Kaththi and Superstar's Lingaa audio rights, Eros Now has now bagged Thala's Yennai Arindhaal. Here is Sreedhar Pillai tweet confirming the news

The magic duo of Harris Jayaraj & Gautham Menon have united once again in Thala's Yennai Arindhaal, Expectations are sky high following the chartbusters the duo have delivered in Minnale, Kakkha Kakkha, Pachaikili Muthucharam and Varanam Aayiram. Harris Jayaraj yesterday held a chat session with his fans and revealed few details on the upcoming Yennai Arindhaal album
Harris revealed the opening lines of Thala's mass intro
"Adhaaru Adhaaru , Udhaaru Udhaaru..
Pattaasum summave koluthama vedikkum."
Harris went on add that this mass number has been crooned by Gaana Bala & Vijay Prakash. Harris added the album would be out once all works are complete. The album will feature 6 Tracks and so far the singers featured are Karthik, Gaana Bala, Vijay Prakash and a singer from UK. The album is expected by December.

Thala 55 with Gautham Menon is fast progressing, The stylish cop flick starring Thala, Anushka, Trisha and Arun Vijay is one of the year's most expected film. The latest update on the Thala starrer is that music director Harris Jayaraj is currently composing a mass intro song for which the montage shots have already shot. One of the best intro songs in 'Karka Karka' from Vettaiyadu Vilayadu was also done by the same duo of Harris and Gautham Menon.
There is also some unconfirmed reports going around that the film's title and first look will be revealed on August 28th as an Vinayagar Chathurthi special.

Thala 55/Sathya with Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is fast progressing, There is currently a buzz going around that STR might feature in the intro song of Thala 55. STR also has a film which is at a halfway stage with GVM. There is however no official confirmation on the STR being part of Thala 55 yet.
Thala 55 also marks the special re-union of Harris Jayaraj and Gautham Menon after a period of 5 years, The music director recently tweeted that he has just completed recording a romantic track for Ajith and Trisha combination scene which will feature vocals from Karthik.

Shocking Kidnap Attempt on Harris Jayaraj

A shocking kidnap attempt was recently made on music director Harris Jayaraj. A couple of days ago Harris's wife Suma had received an anonymous call to her mobile demanding 20 Lakhs or threatening to kidnap her husband and their children. Suma initially ignored the call in thought it might be a prank call by someone she knew but when she received another call with the same demand on Monday (12th May) she immediately lodged a police complaint.
The Police immediately traced the phone call to a location in Tirusulam and arrested Thirumalai and 2 others who were responsible for the kidnap threat. Thirumalai was actually driver of Harris Jayaraj who conspired with his friends to extract money from music director.

Fans here are few absolutely exciting updates on the much anticipated Thala 55.
- It's officially confirmed that Anushka Shetty will indeed be sharing screen space with Thala in Gautham Menon movie. The earlier reports of Anushka being dropped out of the project have all been thrashed as mere rumors.
- It's also official that Harris Jayaraj will re-unite with Gautham Menon after their split up in Varanam Aayiram for Thala 55. The duo have delivered huge chartbusters in Minnale, Kaakha Kaakha, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu and Vaaranam Aayiram.
- This may not be officially confirmed but this is definitely the biggest buzz currently going around regarding Thala 55, The buzz is that Thala Ajith might play a dual role in the movie wherein he plays both the Hero and the villain.
- An official press release regarding the movie is expected to be out on March 19th.

- Till date it was unofficially confirmed that Anirudh Ravichander will be the composer for Thala 55, However there is currently a buzz that Harris Jayaraj has been roped in as the music director for Thala 55. There were earlier reports that Harris Jayaraj was actually signed up for Thala 58 with K.V Anand. There is no official confirmation on the report yet.
- There is also a another report that Deepika Padukone has been signed as the lead actress for Thala 55 and has reportedly being a paid a remuneration of 7 crores. Anushka Shetty who was earlier the front-runner for the role has been dropped for reasons unknown.

It's more or less confirmed that director K.V Anand will helming Thala 56th movie after the Ajith-GVM film. Sources add that Thala will be reprising the role which was initially written for Superstar Rajinikanth. There is also a buzz going around that Harris Jayaraj has already been roped in for Thala 56.
If the buzz does materialize then it would this would be the first time Harris Jayaraj would compose for Thala Ajith.

It's a known fact that Ilayathalapathy Vijay is all set to feature in Chimbudevan project for his 58th film. Sources add that Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz have been roped in for the fantasy film which is produced by Vijay's long time Manager and PR P.T.Selvakumar.
The latest buzz is that Isai Puyal A.R.Rahman might be roped for the film, Vijay and Director Chimbu Devan are keen to to have the oscar winner on board for this experimental film. Sources also add the uniqueness of the script will get the nod from A.R.Rahman. Vijay 58th will be Hat-trick for Vijay and A.R.Rahman after Udhaya and Azhagiya Tamil Magan.

National Award Winning Seenu Ramasamy has apparently lashed out against A.R.Rahman and Harris Jayaraj at the Thegidi audio launch. The Director who has delivered movies like Thenmerku Paruvakatru and Neer Paravai spoke at the launch stating "MSV used to work on MGR's films, but at the same time, he also used to compose for small-budget films. Ilaiyaraaja, too, did the same."
Seenu Ramasamy went on to add that however today an A.R.Rahman or a Harris Jayaraj do not take up small budget films as their salary is equal and sometimes bigger than the entire budget of these films."When a big-name music director composes for a small film, it gets noticed by the audience, who will consider watching it. But are today's music directors like that," he questioned.
He added, "Today, small-budget films give importance to the script, and it's in these films that you can have good music. I see this habit of not taking up a project because of its budget as being dishonest to art."

Harris Jayaraj Helps out Thala 55 Director

As SSMusic earlier reported, Gautham Menon was under legal tussle when a cheating case was filed against the director and his associates by producer Jayaraman, who alleged that Gautham had failed to pay his share of Rs 1 crore after striking a deal for Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa's Hindi remake, Ekk Deewana Tha (EDT).
Gautham Menon however addressed the issue to the Times of India. Here is the complete excerpts from the interview "I'm looking at it as the murky side of Tamil cinema. My partners (Reshma Ghatala and Venkat Somasundaram) and I have been fighting this for a year now. The main driving force behind their actions is the fact that I started a company with these two, got it listed, and didn't get into a partnership with Jayaraman (and his partner Elred Kumar).It was timed exactly when the Suriya film was supposed to start. I was producing that film, and the case was the first sign of a threat.
Talking about Jayaraman and Eldred, he says, "They came into my life during the making of Vaaranam Aayiram and I made them producers with Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. We did Nadunisi Naaigal and Veppam together, and then started Ek Deewane Tha. Halfway through the movie, Fox Star Studios, who were partnering with us, asked us to transfer the rights to them. The rights were with Jayaraman and Elred but they started saying that they will not transfer it unless I do another film for them. That was coercion but that was how Neethane En Ponvasantham happened. I was shooting a Telugu film (with Ram) called Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu. When they heard that I'm moving on and doing a film with an outside producer, they forced me saying that 'If you want to continue with EDT, you have to sign another film with us'. Because we were halfway through the film, I agreed."
He says that the same case is being foisted on him every time he begins a new project. "The first time the case was filed, I had just started Suriya's film. Then, they filed when I announced my films with Simbu and Ajith. Now, they have brought this up again because I was going to have my script discussions with Ajith this week."
"On Monday, we presented to the court that there is a suppression of facts here and proved that the case was earlier dismissed at the magistrate court and at the CCB too," Gautham says.
Harris Jayaraj who had parted ways from Gautham Vasudev Menon after Varanam Aayiram is however helping the director to get out of the legal trouble and the threat from RS Infotainment. GVM said "good people" in the industry like Harris Jayaraj and Sarath Kumar have stepped in to find a solution.

Harris Jayaraj's Controversial Comment on Selvaraghavan & his Irandam Ulagam

Harris Jayaraj has been receiving some rave reviews for his work in Endrendrum Punnagai. The music director who spoke at the movie's success meet made some controversial comments on Selvaraghavan and his Irandam Ulagam movie.
Fans will be aware of the fact that Harris Jayaraj was part of Selva's big budgeted Irandam Ulagam and delivered a chartbuster of an album with Selva even calling him the King of Romance but out the blue Harris pulled out of the project and Selvaraghavan had to rope in Anirudh to complete the movie's background score.
Harris who spoke at the event said Life is about the decisions we make and 4 months back he was faced with one such decision as he was working in two films simultaneously one a big budgeted movie(Irandam Ulagam) and the other the lite film Endrendrum Punnagai. At the point he had time to work for only one movie and it was at that juncture that he viewed Irandam Ulagam and called the movie producers after 2 days and informed that he couldn't be involved in the project furthermore.
Harris added he took 2 days time because he watched Endrendrum Punnagai at that point and realized this was a simple story that connected well with our audience and whereas Directors now are making too much complications.
Harris concluded saying he knew Endrendrum Punnagai was a winner and was glad that he made that decision.

Selvaraghavan disappointed with Anirudh's Background work in Irandam Ulagam ?

Director Selvaraghavan's Irandam Ulagam opened to mixed reaction today, Never before as a movie been getting such extreme comments, One section of the crowd were all praises for the sheer visual magic in the movie terming it a Selvaraghavan Masterpiece while the other section thrashed the movie for being plot-less. All Leading entertainment portals awarded the movie with just 3 stars.
Director Selvaraghavan was however totally unfaced by the mixed response and was in a sort of re-tweet frenzy. In one of the several RT's done by the ace director there was this tweet
