Forbes India, one of the pioneers in finance, industry, investing, and marketing topics have come out with their yearly list of the Top 100 celebrities in India based on earnings and fame for the year 2014. 

  • A.R.Rahman was the highest placed south Indian ranking in at 13th. (#15 Money Rank,#15 Fame Rank)

  • Mahesh Babu was placed at 30th Position earning Rs 51 Crore, while he was rated at    (#14 Money Rank #88 Fame Rank )

  • A.R.Murugadoss came in at 39th Position earning Rs 44.33 Crore. (#17 Money Rank #97 Fame Rank)

  • Ilayathalapathy Vijay was placed at 41st, grossing Rs 33 Crore. He ranked (#23 Money Rank #80 Fame Rank)

  • Superstar Rajinikanth ranked at 45th, Earning Rs 37 Crore. (#21 Money Rank #89 Fame Rank)

  • Thala Ajith, was ranked at 51st position while he grossed Rs 40.33 Crores. He was placed (#19 Money Rank #98 Fame Rank)

Big Difference between Tamil & Telugu Kaththi ?

Ilayathalapathy's Kaththi is finally getting ready for Telugu release. The film which has already been inducted into the 100 Crore club did it with a single language release, Now with Telugu version the film's box office collection could soar to even greater heights. 

Unlike Kaththi's Tamil version which ran for 2hr and 46 minutes, The Telugu version has been trimmed by 20 minutes. Producer Tagore Madhu who holds distribution rights of this Ilayathalapathy starrer is looking at 21st or 28th November as possible release dates.

Fans here is the breaking news you have been waiting for a while. A.R.Murugadoss next Tamil Film is with Thala Ajith. The Director has recently narrated the story and got the approval from thala himself. AR Murugadoss will commence the film once he completes his Straight Bollywood film with Sonakshi Sinha while Thala meanwhile will complete his Thala 57 with Siruthai Siva.

AR Murugadoss and Thala have previously worked in Dheena.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Kaththi has just been declared as the biggest blockbuster of the year grossing a total of 6.71 crores (Chennai City alone). The film which saw the reunion of Thuppakki duo in A.R.Murugadoss and Vijay set the records tumbling even before the film release. Now the film which is still only in its third week has surpassed the likes of other blockbusters in Velai Illa Pattathari and Veeram. Here is the list of top 4 grossers in Chennai city alone   


    1. Kaththi - 6.71 crores and still running 
    2. Vellai Illa Pattathari - 6.66 crores 
    3. Veeram - 6.14 Crores
    4. Jilla - 5.68 Crores

This the second time Ilayathalapathy's film has raked over Rs.100 Crore at the worldwide box-office the first being Kaththi which was also directed by A.R.Murugadoss. Ilayathalapathy's next Vijay 58 will be directed by Chimbudevan featuring Sudeep, Sridevi, Hansika and Shruti Haasan.

Kaththi the biggest tamil blockbuster of year is smashing records left right and centre at the box office, The film is expected to cross the 100 crore mark by this weekend. Social media platforms like Facebook and twitter nowadays play a huge role in promoting the film with Trending Hashtags they have taken film promotions to all new levels. But the same social media platforms are now acting as a double edged sword for films.

Kaththi's Updated Collection report - 100 Crore insight !

Kaththi has already been declared the biggest Tamil Blockbuster of Year and now the latest is that Ilayathalapathy will make his entry into the Illustrious 100 Crore club for the second time following Thuppakki. 

"The film is unarguably the biggest Tamil blockbuster of the year. In its first week, it has collected a whopping ₹82 crore at the ticket window. It should touch the ₹100 crore mark by this weekend," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.

"It's a rare feat because Tamil films don't have pan India release, unlike Hindi films. Moreover, the ticket prices in Tamil Nadu have a cap. Keeping all this in mind, what 'Kaththi' has achieved is truly phenomenal," he said.

Kaththi will join soon the league of Extraordinary tamil films that have surpassed 100 Crore mark.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Kaththi is on the verge of breaking into the Illustrious 100 crore club in a few days. Directed by A.R.Murugadoss the film starred Ilayathalapathy in dual roles and was widely appreciated for delivering a social message in a commercial blockbuster.

 Till date the official box office collections of Kaththi are as follows 

  • Indian Box office collection for 5 days - 22nd October to 26th October (Wednesday to Sunday) - 47.70 crores 
  • Overseas box office collection for 6 days from 22nd October to 27th October ( Wednesday to Monday) - 23.35 crores 


 Total collection( In India till sunday + Overseas till Monday) 71.05 crores

Kaththi Telugu release is on Hold ?

Ilayathalapathy's Kaththi has been stupendous success in domestic and International box offices. Now the latest is Powerstar Pawan Kalyan might be remaking the film in Tollywood. The film's telugu dubbing rights was acquired by distributor Madhu and was expected to release simultaneously with the Tamil version but was later announced the film will release on 31st october. Now the latest buzz is that the film might not release on the scheduled date.

Sources add that with huge demand of Kaththi's telugu remake rights it's not clear if the film's Telugu dubbed version will release. The makers of the film have sold only the dubbing rights not the remake rights.

"Several producers have expressed interest to remake Kaththi in Telugu. Pawan Kalyan is the top contender in the list of actors to play the lead in the remake. But the makers of the original haven't yet sold the remake rights," a source close to "Kaththi" producers told IANS.

"Vijay sir was really not keen about remake. He wanted the dubbed Telugu version to be released," said the source.

A.R.Murugadoss is currently one of the most sought out director in the country, He has delivered back to back blockbusters in Bollywood and Kollywood. Be it Aamir Khan's Ghajini or Thupakki or recently Kaththi his films have set and broke box office records. Now here is a special collection of quotes on what A.R.M had to say on the leading actors in Kollywood in some of his recent interviews

On Ajith - "Ajith gave me life when i was struggling as an assistant director and i'm ready to direct him anytime." A.R.M also revealed that the first time Ajith met him he said 'He will Make it' and be a successful director.
  
On Vijay - ARM said Vijay was his friend and  revealed some unknown titbits on Vijay, He said Vijay has a great sense of acting regarding camera range i.e he knows what reaction to portray for a close up shot or a wide shot. No matter how many re-takes are done, his body language wont change meaning there won't by any jump shots in edit. 

ARM went on add that Vijay has a keen interest on listening to scripts, even if he gets a half day break he listens to scripts. 

On Suriya - ARM called Suriya a hard worker and a sincere actor. His dedication and commitment to differentiate between the two roles in Ghajini was a huge advertisement for the film.

On Vikram - Though ARM has never directed Chiyaan, He said he holds Vikram in the highest respects. Despite the availability of so much technological advancements the man has taken so much pain to alter himself so many times for one project. That is real passion.

    A.R.Murugadoss is currently the most wanted Director in Kollywood with monstrous success of Kaththi, Now in a recent interview A.R.M has said " Ajith gave me life when i was struggling as an assistant director and i'm ready to direct him anytime."

    There were numerous rumors earlier that A.R.Murugadoss next after Kaththi might be a film titled 'Thala' a script which was exclusively written for Ajith.  But ARM then confirmed that his next would be a straight Bollywood film with Sonakshi Sinha.
