Director Vasanthabalan who hugely impressed in Angadi Theru is ready with another classic Kaaviya Thalaivan which is slated for release this friday. The film is about the lives of two theatre artistes played by Siddharth and Prithviraj and the competition that exists between them in a small drama troupe. In a recent interview Director Vasanthabalan revealed that he initially wanted Suriya and Vikram in the lead roles but later opted for Siddharth and Prithiviraj.
A.R.Rahman's soundtrack for the film was already rated 5 stars by most of the critics and will be a huge backbone for the film. "The reason we approached Rahman sir is because music drives the story in our film. We wanted someone who could promise us great music. Rahman sir spent nearly two years to give the kind of music, which plays a vital role in the story, Even for Rahman sir, this project was challenging as he hasn't worked on something like this before. He even gave us most of the songs even before we went on floors with the film, contrary to how he usually works on a project." said Vasanthabalan to IANS.

As SS Music earlier reported Director Vasanthbalan's Kaviyathalaivan is a Periodic movie which is based upon the real life love story for KB Sundrambal and Kittappa. Siddarth was roped in to play the lead role with A.R Rahman scoring the music and Y Not Studios handling the production.
Now the latest buzz on the movie is that actor Prithivaj and actress Anaika Soti of Ram Gopal Varma's Satya 2 has been roped into this project. Lakshmi Menon's name was also linked up with same project however official sources now confirm that Anaika has bagged Lakshmi Menon's role.

Nayanthara who has made her re-entry to acting after her break up with Prabhu Deva is getting stronger than before. Nayanthara has multiple projects up her sleeve, in Tamil she has 'Valai', 'Idhu Kadhirvelan Kaadhal', and 'Raja Rani', in Telugu 'Greeku Veerudu', and in Malayalam she has 'Arival Chuttika Nakshathram'.
Actress Nayanthara is all set to pair up with Malayalam superstar Mammootty for the movie 'Arival Chuttika Nakshathram'. Official reports have it that Nayanthara has been paid Rs 1 Crore as salary for this movie, whereas the legendary Mammootty salary was fixed at just 50 lakhs. 'Arival Chuttika' is set to produced by Actor Prithiviraj who also dons the villain role in the movie.
