Director Vasanthabalan who hugely impressed in Angadi Theru is ready with another classic Kaaviya Thalaivan which is slated for release this friday. The film is about the lives of two theatre artistes played by Siddharth and Prithviraj and the competition that exists between them in a small drama troupe. In a recent interview Director Vasanthabalan revealed that he initially wanted Suriya and Vikram in the lead roles but later opted for Siddharth and Prithiviraj.
A.R.Rahman's soundtrack for the film was already rated 5 stars by most of the critics and will be a huge backbone for the film. "The reason we approached Rahman sir is because music drives the story in our film. We wanted someone who could promise us great music. Rahman sir spent nearly two years to give the kind of music, which plays a vital role in the story, Even for Rahman sir, this project was challenging as he hasn't worked on something like this before. He even gave us most of the songs even before we went on floors with the film, contrary to how he usually works on a project." said Vasanthabalan to IANS.

Chiyaan Vikram's is currently into 10 Enradhukulla with Director Vijay Milton, The film is touted to be along the lines of Transporter movie. For an high octane car sequence the Director Vijay Milton wanted an suggestion from expert and after consulting the stunt Choreographer Lee Whittaker they decided to approach Thala Ajith who has participated in professional car racing.
When the team called up Thala and completely explained the action sequence, Ajith had replied that F1 racer Narain Karthikeyan would be a better choice than him to help out and he then personally called up Narain Karthikeyan and told him to assist the 10 Enradhukulla team with the action sequence.
This road thriller film features Chiyaan Vikram, Samantha in Dual roles, Pasupathy, Jackie Shroff and Manobala.

Director Shankar who has produced some decent hits in Veyil, Kalloori, Eeram under his S Pictures took a break from production after Rettaisuzhi in 2010. Now Shankar's S Pictures are back and will be releasing Kappal featuring Vaibhav and Sonam Bajwa.
Now the latest is that the audio launch of the film will be graced by A.R.Rahman, Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Chiyaan Vikram. This grand audio launch is scheduled to happen on 22nd November at Image Auditorium Chennai.

Chiyaan Vikram- Shankar's magnum opus I, finally has a release date if sources are to be believed. The movie which was initially slated for Diwali release was postponed indefinitely and there was no clear idea on when the film would release. Now there are reports surfacing that the team have zeroed upon Christmas as the final release date for the film.
An official confirmation on the release date is expected to be made soon. With Superstar's Lingaa slated for release on December 12th and now I scheduled for 25th, December will one great feast for movie buffs.

Chiyaan Vikram's I is the film the entire industry is waiting for, Directed by Shankar the entire film fraternity along with the millions of fans were blown away by the 90 second teaser which went on to record over 8 million views in Youtube.
Now the latest buzz on the film is that it's release has been pushed to 2015 February. Chiyaan Vikram in a recent interview did reveal that "The film’s post-production and special-effects are taking longer than expected. It has very complicated effects".
An official confirmation on the film's release date is expected to be made soon.

I's financial controversy, Salary not being paid ?

Director Shankar's magnum opus I has been allegedly caught in a financial controversy, The film was rumored to be made around a budget of 150 crores making it the biggest film ever to be made in India. But Shankar in a recent interview denied those allegations stating "For some reason, people like to exaggerate how much I spend on a film. Trust me when I tell you that the budget of I is less than Rs. 100 crore."
Now the latest is Murali Manohar one of the assistant directors in I claimed he has not been paid his remuneration for the past two months and posted this on his facebook account “Pasikuthunnu veliye solla enaku endha vekkamum illa. ennaa kekarathu pichai illa. uzhaichathukaana kooli. ?#?aascar ?#?i” (I am not ashamed to say that I’m hungry. I'm not begging for undeserved money. I’m asking for the money that I deserve to be paid.)
The assistant director who was then contacted by Deccan Chronicle said “I have not been paid for the last two months for working in the film. I am speaking on behalf of other ADs too.I have been unwell and running a fever, and I don’t have the money to go to the hospital. It’s not easy for me, as I have to support my wife and child.”
Aascar Ravichandran the producer of the film however denied the above allegations stating that he has settled all the money and everything has been done correctly. Vimal the production manager of this film said it was surprising to him to see things being blown out of proportion and said “Only the dues for the last month are yet to be paid. We have paid salaries to all.”

The much expected film of the year, I might be delayed even further. The film which was initially slated for Diwali release is yet to have a clear release date. Now Chiyaan Vikram in a recent interview to Deccan Chronicle had this say “The film’s post-production and special-effects are taking longer than expected. It has very complicated effects. Plus, we are dubbing the film in multiple languages. We are working round-the-clock. We are in no hurry. Nor are we competing with any other film.”
Chiyaan who lost 25kgs for a role in I said at one point he completely stopped meeting people “I couldn't go on explaining to them that this was just for a film I was doing. People thought I was unwell. I just switched off my phone and stopped meeting people".

Shankar & Chiyaan Vikram's I is the undoubtedly the most expected film, the fact that a mere 90 second teaser has amassed more than 8 million views in Youtube is a clear sign of the huge buzz around the film. Producer Aascar Ravichandran recently opened up to a daily on why the film's release is being delayed. Aascar said "If the film I was made for money then i would have released it a long time ago but the film has such herculean efforts of huge number of people and releasing the film in a hurry won't just be right. My one film (I) will make people talk about the 100 years of Tamil Cinema."
The I Producer went on reveal that he will soon announce the official release date.

The Year 2014 will draw to an end and 2015 will begin in an explosive manner with biggies like Superstar's Lingaa, Thala's Yennai Arindhaal, Ulaganayagan's Uthama Villain and Chiyaan's 10 Enradhukulla, Dhanush's Anegan all lined up for release. Now the release date of Chiyaan Vikram - Director Shankar's Magnum Opus I could hold the key to determine the release date of all the above flicks. The buzz around the film has been absolutely epic and needs an solo release to fulfil its complete potential.
Now there is currently a buzz going around in K'Town that the makers are looking at Superstar's Birthday December 12th as a possible release date. There is also a buzz that Superstar's Lingaa with K.S Ravikumar might itself release on the same day as birthday treat to Superstar fans. An official confirmation from the makers might clear the air. With the spectacular audio launch of I in Tollywood with Sylvester Stallone and Jackie Chan yet to happen there is still no clear date for I's release.

Now here is a special collection of quotes on what A.R.M had to say on the leading actors in Kollywood in some of his recent interviews
On Ajith - "Ajith gave me life when i was struggling as an assistant director and i'm ready to direct him anytime." A.R.M also revealed that the first time Ajith met him he said 'He will Make it' and be a successful director.
On Vijay - ARM said Vijay was his friend and revealed some unknown titbits on Vijay, He said Vijay has a great sense of acting regarding camera range i.e he knows what reaction to portray for a close up shot or a wide shot. No matter how many re-takes are done, his body language wont change meaning there won't by any jump shots in edit.
ARM went on add that Vijay has a keen interest on listening to scripts, even if he gets a half day break he listens to scripts.

Dhanush's next Kollywood offering after the blockbuster Velai illa Pattathari is K.V.Anand's Anegan. The film's shooting has been completed and Harris Jayaraj is currently into re-recording works. But the makers are very hesitant to schedule a release date for the film. The reason being Superstar's Lingaa and Chiyaan Vikram's I.
The release date of Lingaa and I is still very much unclear and since most of the screens will be blocked for these films leaving only secondary screens for other the makers of Anegan are still waiting for Lingaa and I to decide their release date.

After hosting the grandest audio launch in Kollywood history with Arnold Schwarzenegger, I Producer Aascar Ravichandran has taken things to even greater heights after confirming the presence of Sylvester Stallone for the U.S Premiere of the film.
Aascar Ravichandran had this say to Times of India "We are planning to have two premieres. One will be in Singapore and the other will be in the US. Sylvester Stallone has agreed to participate in the US premiere of the film." Aascar also confirmed the presence of Jackie Chan for the Telugu Audio launch which is expected to take place soon.
"You have to remember that each theatre can have several screens. So, the number 20,000 might go up several times more, if you take the screens into account," Ravichandran added.

If there was ever an actor who symbolizes complete commitment and dedication, it's Chiyaan Vikram. The man of many faces stirred up a storm with just the 60 second teaser. Now here is yet another example of Chiyaan's dedication, It's known that Vikram is dubbing for Tamil, Telugu and the Hindi version of the I film, Chiyaan apparently required medical treatment for his throat after completing Tamil Version but the actor despite the pain flew to Mumbai & Hyderabad to dub for Bollywood and Tollywood version.
"There is a hunchback character in the film and the character required a voice which would have to sound gruff, but at the same time, not annoy viewers. Only Vikram could do it and he sportingly, took it upon himself to dub that part as well in the Tamil version. But he required medical treatment after doing it. Despite the strain it put on his voice, Vikram took it upon himself to dub for the Hindi and Telugu versions too and is now in the process of doing it." Reported a source to Times of India

The Magnum Opus director's latest offering I with Chiyaan Vikram is the hottest film in our country currently. Shankar in a recent interview to the Hindu talked about I and revealed few intresting details from his previous films here are the extracts - On I's Budget : "For some reason, people like to exaggerate how much I spend on a film. Trust me when I tell you that the budget of I is less than Rs. 100 crore. I try hard to salvage every rupee. When I’m on the spot, I keep my eyes open for equipment we can return and save money".
- On Chiyaan Vikram's commitment for I : "He is willing to go all out to do what it takes for a film. When he lost weight for I, it was because he wanted to. Again, there were rumours that I was being unduly harsh on my crew. A stranger who wanted a picture with me suddenly asked, “Why are you torturing Vikram?” I really am not. It was his idea, and I agreed it would be good for the film."
- On missing out on Superstar for Mudhalvan : "Well, I wanted to do Mudhalvan with Kamal Haasan too! He was busy with Hey Ram (2000) when I called him about it. By the time I got around to telling him the film’s one-liner, we had already made it with Arjun".
- On his next movie : "I have almost finished three! I’m not sure which one I’ll start work on next though. Yes, I really want to make its sequel with Rajinikanth(Endhiran 2)), but I don’t know if it will be next, or even if it will happen at all. For now, I’m waiting to hear from my producer about the release of I".

Diwali 2014 was build up by the press and fans alike as the Triple threat clash between Kaththi, I and Poojai. Till date Kaththi and Poojai have confirmed their Diwali release status while things are still unclear over I's release date.
Now the latest reports suggest that I might be targeting a solo release in November and Aascar Ravichandran who earlier booked few screens for I will now use the same for Boologam starring Jayam Ravi and Trisha. An official confirmation on Boologam's entry into the Diwali race is expected soon.

Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan is the latest celebrity to be 'Mersalaayitten' by Chiyaan Vikram's I. The Bollywood star who was in Chennai recently to promote his upcoming film Happy New Year revealed that he was completely blown away by Director Shankar's work in I. SRK who was amazed by the teaser said I has been made with Style on a Grand scale and was all praise for the outstanding technology used in the teaser.
Chiyaan Vikram's I which was initially expected to be Diwali release is now expected to hit the screens in the month of November.
