Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan who celebrated his 60th birthday yesterday currently has three films lined for release in Viswaroopam 2, Uthama Villain and Papanasam. In a recent interview Kamal revealed that there is still CG work pending for Vishwaroopam 2 and hence Uthama Villain will release first followed by Drishyam's tamil remake Papanasam and then finally Vishwaroopam 2.

Kamal Haasan also talked about his much awaited Marudhanayagam film he said "I need not only the money but also a powerful distribution network from the west to take hold of it and release it properly because it is an English, French, Tamil film. That is the virtue of the film and it has to be done like that. It is not a project that I can sell and walk away. I can start anytime on this project as I already have the first 30 minutes of it ready. I need to ready another two hours of content. I want to get a release platform in the US and in the west. Companies like Fox and Viacom must look at it but they are interested in the regular fare.

Sivakarthikeyan the hot rising star of Kollywood is on a great success streak following the blockbusters in Kedi Billa Killandi Ranga, Varutha Padatha Valibar Sangam, Ethir Neechal and Maan Karate. Now his upcoming cop flick which is directed by R.S Durai Senthilkumar was initially titled as Tanaaa and then rumored to have been titled after Kamal Haasan's Kakki Sattai but there were still doubts if Kamal Haasan would give away the classic title. Now Sivakarthikeyan tweet confirmed that the film has been titled as Kakki Sattai and the first look will be revealed in November.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan began shooting for his next flick - Rajini Murugan which is Directed by Ponram of Varutha Padatha Valibar Sangam fame. Superstar Rajinikanth has himself given the green light for the title and the film was kicked off yesterday with an official poojai.

The film has Sivakarthikeyan, Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles, while Soori, Samuthirakani and Rajkiran play supporting roles. The film produced by Thirrupathi Brothers will feature music by D. Imman

There were numerous rumors yesterday that Kamal Haasan was injured while Papanasam shooting and was admitted in hospital. Ulaganayagan himself has now clarified on the rumor issuing a press release which read

"Before various new ailments are endowed upon me,I hasten to clarify that all is well. It is not true that I was injured while shooting, it was a make up rubber prosthetic that slipped into my nasal passage and had to be carefully removed under medical supervision" (As Kamal was shooting for a stunt scene, he had to simulate injuries on his face via prosthetic makeup.

Kamal concluded by saying "A visit to the hospital with a bruised face led to the interpolated news, I am alright".

Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam was a record breaker in every terms, The film crossed several obstacles before hitting the screens with a huge bang and went on to be one of the biggest blockbusters of year 2013. It's sequel was expected to hit the screens on 14th February 2014 but 8 months on the film is yet to release.

Now the latest buzz on this Kamal Haasan starrer is that the film will hit the screen by end of this year. A source close to the development says, "Vishwaroopam 2 will surely release by the end of 2014. As of now, only two days of shooting is left and some CG work is still pending. The team is working hard towards completing the film and releasing it shortly."

Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan was recently in Chennai promoting his Diwali release Happy New Year. The 8 packed star in an interview was quizzed if he is still in touch with Vijay whom he met at two consecutive award functions. SRK said "I do. I would love to meet Vijay and have a chat with him".

SRK went on add that (Kollywood actors) "They (Tamil actors) are all very warm towards me and treat me like I am some special guest. I am lucky to know senior actors Rajini and Kamal sirs and learn from their work.”

Director Shankar is without a shred of doubt is one of the leading if not the leading director from our Country, His Filmography speaks for himself. The Magnum Opus director's latest offering I with Chiyaan Vikram is the hottest film in our country currently. Shankar in a recent interview to the Hindu talked about I and revealed few intresting details from his previous films here are the extracts

On I's Budget : "For some reason, people like to exaggerate how much I spend on a film. Trust me when I tell you that the budget of I is less than Rs. 100 crore. I try hard to salvage every rupee. When I’m on the spot, I keep my eyes open for equipment we can return and save money".

On Chiyaan Vikram's commitment for I : "He is willing to go all out to do what it takes for a film. When he lost weight for I, it was because he wanted to. Again, there were rumours that I was being unduly harsh on my crew. A stranger who wanted a picture with me suddenly asked, “Why are you torturing Vikram?” I really am not. It was his idea, and I agreed it would be good for the film."

On missing out on Superstar for Mudhalvan : "Well, I wanted to do Mudhalvan with Kamal Haasan too! He was busy with Hey Ram (2000) when I called him about it. By the time I got around to telling him the film’s one-liner, we had already made it with Arjun".

On his next movie : "I have almost finished three! I’m not sure which one I’ll start work on next though. Yes, I really want to make its sequel with Rajinikanth(Endhiran 2)), but I don’t know if it will be next, or even if it will happen at all. For now, I’m waiting to hear from my producer about the release of I".

Fans if the reports in the industry are to be believed, the title of Thala55 will be announced with a first look poster on or before Diwali. The final stage of shooting is currently happening in Hyderabad where Thala was spotted wearing a rugged beard look. There is currently a buzz going around that this Thala starrer might feature voiceover from Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan.

Thala 55 features Anushka Shetty, Trisha, Arun Vijay, Vivek and several others, Harris Jayaraj has so far completed composing three songs in the film.

Fans there was a buzz going around that Shruti Haasan has apparently said No to an item number in her father's upcoming film in Viswaroopam 2. There were reports that Shruti Haasan who recently did an item number for Arjun Kapoor's Tevar said she wasn't intrested in item numbers anymore.

Shruti Haasan however denied the entire speculation saying she and her father will work together when the right opportunity comes. Kamal Haasan's Uthama Villain is expected to release first on Ulaganayagan's birthday followed by Vishwaroopam 2 sometime around December or late January.

Kamal Haasan's record breaking Vishwaroopam released way back in 3rd February 2013, There were reports that the sequel Vishwaroopam 2 might hit the screen in six months time, but the release never came. Now the latest is that Kamal Haasan's Uthama Villain will release before Vishwaroopam II, It's believed that Uthama Villain will release on Gandhi Jayanthi which falls on the 2nd of October while Vishwaroopam 2 will release in mid of November.

Interestingly there are many common factors in both Kamal's Uthama Villain and Vishwaroopam 2 - Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Music Director Ghibran and Cinematographer Shyam Dutt are part of both movies.

The legendary Bharathiraja has delivered numerous gems in his illustrious career but there is one movie which stood out far ahead of its time in terms of execution, style and content yes we are talking about Sigappu Rojakkal. This crime thriller starring Kamal Haasan was in news recently when reports circulated on Bharathiraja remaking the film.

The ace director has now clarified that he is not remaking the film instead he is working on a sequel to the film. Bharathiraja added that remakes were not his style and the film had a lot of scope for a sequel and he is currently working on the script and the official announcement will be made soon.

If the latest reports are to be believed, Gauthami has officially signed up to star in the Drishyam's Tamil remake which will have Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan playing the lead. Gauthami who is the real life partner of Kamal Haasan will play the role of his wife in this film, According to a source from Times of India, "In the initial stage itself Gauthami had expressed interest to partake in the project. Now, it has been confirmed that she will reprise the role of a housewife, enacted by Meena in the original."

The real life pair is going to team up onscreen for the fifth time. Earlier, the duo had acted in many hit films, including Apoorva Sahodarangal, Nammavar, Thevar Magan and Kuruthipunal. Gauthami after a long break of 15 years will be back to the silverscreen with Drishyam.
