The Reason why Goundamani Said Yes to this Film ?

The legendary comedian Goundamani surprised us all with his decision to a make a comeback after three years in 49-0. Till date it remained a mystery to why Goundamani picked this movie to make a comeback well the director of the film Arokia Doss has just revealed the secret to Times of India He said "When I went to narrate the script to him, I introduced myself and gave him a one-liner about the script. He looked surprised. He said, 'You are Gautham Menon's assistant and yet you have a script on a rural subject.' I then began narrating the script and after just 15 minutes of narration, he stopped me and told me, 'I will do this film.' He then said, 'Now, continue your narration."

The director also addressed another rumor regarding the movie that Goundamani was paid a huge amount to act in this film, The director clarified stating "I wouldn't like to discuss the remuneration, but I will say that Goundamani sir has been paid what he deserves, the salary of top stars."

Its Official Now : Goundamani is coming back as a Hero !

Its Official now, yes Veteran Comedian Goundamani is indeed playing the lead role , though initial reports had it that it would be for a associate of Vetrimaran, its actually Gautham Menon's former associate Arokiadoss who has bagged the prestigious honor.

Goundamani has revealed that  "Yes, I'll be playing the lead in a film titled 49O, which will be directed by Arokiadoss, a former assistant of Gautham Vasudev Menon." 

The Director said "Goundamani sir plays a farmer in the film, which will be a political satire. I wouldn't call his character the hero but as the protagonist around whom the story revolves.We are content to label him as a great comedian but Goundamani sir is actually a great actor. He was impressed with this story and said that in his career spanning 600-odd films he has never played a farmer,"

The movie is expected to go on floors from the week of September.

Fall out Between Director Shankar & Santhanam

Director Shankar is reportedly very very displeased with Comedy Superstar Santhanam, the reason for the displeasure being Santhanam not honoring the commitments he originally agreed to. Shankar signed Santhanam to play the comedian role in his Mega Budget movie "I" but Santhanam was unable to attend his shooting schedules despite allocating those dates exclusively for 'I'.
Following this fallout , Shankar is currently contemplating on making severe changes to the scripts and totally removing Santhanam's scenes from the movie script, Reports also have it that Goundamani might be signed on to play the Santhanam's role.
