Venkat Prabhu Drops Biriyani because of Karthi ?

As we reported earlier there was a feud brewing between "Venkat Prabhu" and "Karthi" in  the sets of Biriyani. Karthi who has had a rude awakening with a series of mega flops in "Saguni" and "Alex Panidiyan" became rather too cautious about choosing his movie scripts , this overcautiousness led to Karthi repeatedly questioning the directional abilities of Venkat Prabhu and took the direction in his own hands by changing the script and the movie story . Venkat Prabhu irritated by the repeated questioning of the storyline and off shoot calls by Karthi also agreed to change the story according the whims and fancies of Karthi. 

But this feud has reached a stand off point where the entire movie shooting has been postponed to the month of May and Karthi has jumped boat to "All in All Azhagu Raja" with Rajesh's Direction. This movie shooting is scheduled from the first week of March.

Looks like Karthi Sivakumar  has overcooked Venkat Prabhu's Biriyani !!!

Gautham Vs Linguswamy Vs Bala for Surya !!

Surya one of the leading actors of Kollywood is currently busy with Hari's "Singam 2" shooting in South Africa but when he comes back from shooting on Thursday he has a huge decision on his hands to make.

Both Gautham Menon and Linguswamy claim they have Surya's call sheet for their next movie , Gautham Menon who turned 40 on Monday confirmed that he would be starting his next movie with Surya from the month of April.  

On the other Hand we have Linguswamy claims he has Surya's approval , and also has Samantha's call sheet ready to start the movie immediately when Surya comes back from Singam 2 shooting.

Now joining this two way tie is ace director Bala, reports has it that Bala is very keen on getting either Surya or Vikram back for his next movie , since Vikram has his hands full with Shankar's "I" he would go after Surya.

Surya has a real big call to make, Will he choose the director who gave him his first big break into Kollywood in Bala or choose the director who transformed his career with Kakha Kakha or go after a new combination in Linguswamy.

Feud Between Karthi & Venkat Prabhu ?

Karthi who started out with a bang delivering back to back blockbusters suddenly hit a blip with a series of flops with "Saguni" and "Alex Pandiyan". This has given a rude awakening to Karthi who now is extra cautious about choosing his scripts but this extra cautiousness has led to a feud between Karthi and Venkat Prabhu.

Karthi who currently is working with Venkat Prabhu for his "Biriyani" movie has been causing alot of dilemma by repeatedly questioning the scene structure and the story line during the shoots , he has also been calling Venkat Prabhu off shoots to ask why the scene wasn't shot has he suggested. 

Venkat Prabhu irritated by these repeated requests has been changing the story so that Karthi would stop pestering him, this two way confusion in the movie story has created a doubt in the minds of other actors and technicians on the what the story of the movie really is.

The Chocolate boy of Kollywood "Arya" has always had a sweet corner for the actress of South, he has always been talked of as an actor who just can't get his hands off the cookie jar. The latest to have fallen prey to Arya's extreme kindness is none other the bubbly Hansika Motwani.
Hansika Motwani when asked who was her favourite hero among those she worked with , ,Without any hestitation whatsoever Hansika said it was "Arya".
She reasoned it out saying "Arya may look very rough on the outside but once you get to really know him, he is sweetest person you'll ever meet , he is never selfish and has helped me out in so many ways. Although i have acted with many actors , Arya impressed me the most , i don't even care it creates any irk among the other actors , i always speak my heart."

A.M Ratnam the Producer of Ajith's Untitled Flick with Vishnuvardhan has said that the film is expected to be a June or July release depending on the Post Production, With the first look and Teaser expected on May 1st which happens to be Ajith's Birthday.

Vijay :
"Ayngaran International" are the Producers of Vijay- A.R Murugadoss project which is to kick off from January 2014 with a production Budget of 75 Crores. 
The "Thalaivaa" Team have also decided to release the movie on June 22nd which is Vijay's Birthday.

Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya 3 !!

It is Gautham Vasudev Menon's VinnaiThaandi Varuvaaya's(VTV) 3rd year anniversary and we would like to do our bit in honouring this wonderful creation from the Wizard of romance himself.It was the summer of 2009 and few parody posters of Alaipauthey,Dil Se,Minsara Kanavu were being published in the media which featured two unknown faces,Gautham Menon wanted to play this card very close to his chest and he did not reveal his lead characters.When they were finally revealed ,boy oh boy those characters of "Karthik" played by STR and "Jessie" played by Trisha went on to carve a separate place in the history of Tamil Cinema with their ultra realistic urban depiction of their respective characters. 
VTV was released on exactly the same day 3 years ago and opened to mixed reviews, few critics thrashing the movie mostly due to Jessie's wobbly characterization but there were extreme contrast reviews on the other end praising the movie as an all time best romantic movie ever.It didn't fail us either and we were mightily impressed with what Gautham created, did he realise while he was writing the movie that he is writing himself into the history books of Tamil Cinema.Not Sure.But he touched each of us through his poetry, he got Rahman to score music for his movie and what Rahman missed in Tamil Cinema in the few years he was concentrating on Hollywood and Bollywood he made up for that through his score for VTV.It was Rahman's best album in years,songs or anthems should we call it.
The romance of VTV played out to all the couples who identified themselves with the movie and those who couldn't identify went on to make an effort to get identified, thus by ensuring the romance in VinnaiThaandi Varuvaaya crossed the skies and fell on to the hearts of millions of people.

Rajini, Vijay and ??? for K.V Anand ?

"Maatraan" may have failed in the box office but that has no way hindered the market of "K.V Anand". Currently all the news and reports have been encircling him on who would he be directing next , EROS International officially said that they had signed K.V Anand to direct a "Rajinikanth" starrer only to be branded as rumour by K.V Anand. 

Now the man himself has come out and said that he is indeed working on three different stories with three different heroes and three different production houses have approached him. He also added that the next project depends totally on the availability of the dates of those heroes.

From Sources we know that Rajinikanth for EROS and Vijay for AGS are two among those three, but who is the third hero, Would it be "Kamal Haasan" , "Ajith" or will be it "Surya" again . Take a guess people !!

Oscar and The Indian Connection

Ever Since Danny Boyle and A R Rahman put India on the Oscars platform in 2009 with 'Slumdog Millionaire' , our country has been getting some well deserved attention at the mother of all award ceremonies.India wasn't left out this year as well and it was Ang Lee's turn to portray India like never before.His film 'Life of Pi' got nominated in a whopping 11 categories including Best Song for which our very own 'Bombay' Jayashri was a nominee.Going into the Oscars this morning 'Life of Pi' was expected to win big this year and it ended bagging four awards which is more than any other film. Unfortunately 'Bombay' Jayashri couldn't join A R Rahman in the list of a very few Indians to have won the Oscar , Best Song was won by Adele for her brilliant rendition of "Skyfall" for the movie 'Skyfall'.

'Life of Pi' won for it's outstanding visual effects by Rhythm and Hues studio based in California , it's out of the world cinematography by Claudio Miranda,it's soul numbing music by Mychael Danna and the biggest of them all Ang Lee pipped Steven Spielberg and David O.Russell among others to win the Oscar in Directing.He had earlier won the Oscar for his 2005 romantic drama 'Brokeback Mountain'.It was very  much an Indian evening at the 2009 Academy Awards with 'Slumdog Millionaire' winning 8 awards then and  this year 'Life of Pi' managed to bag 4 awards which is more than any other film this year making the Indian connection strong at the Oscars with every passing year.We hope it continues to pave way for all our technicians and film makers to be noted globally.

K.V Anand & Superstar Rajinikanth What Really Happened?

Between a space of few hours K.V Anand's Superstar Project was officially announced and officially denounced . Here is a synopsis of really happened.

First up , Eros International a Mumbai based Motion picture and distribution company's Cheif Financial Officer "Kamal Jeyan" made a official press release " Just like Bollywood we are hoping to see success for our projects in Tamil industry and thereby estabalishing our brand. As part of the new beginiing we have signed Rajnikanth's third movie following "Kochadaiyaan" and "Rana" with K.V Anand. Announcements regarding the cast, crew and the budget will be made soon.
