The Legendary Kamal Haasan has played almost every single character in his conquest of Indian Cinema but the Ullaganayagan has himself regretted not bagging the much coveted role which was based and inspired on Dawood Ibrahim in D-Day.
Ullaganayagan apparently wanted to play the role of a gangster in Nikhil Advani's D-Day which is now being played by Rishi Kapoor. A Source revealed that “Shruti Haasan, who plays a street walker(prostitute) in the film, had consulted her father on whether she should sign it. Interestingly, after reading the script Kamal wanted to play the role that is believed to be inspired from Dawood himself".
Unfortunately Director Nikhil had to inform him that Rishi Kapoor was already signed to play the role. The Producer of the movie Monisha Advani however states that “Rishi Kapoor was always the first choice for Goldman’s character. But Kamal Haasan remarked how he would have liked to do the film. His appreciation encouraged Nikhil and the entire team to put in their best.” D-Day will be hitting the screens in another 2 days.
