Thalaivaa has been stalled for the same reason Vishwaroopam was. The filmmakers had approached Police protection across the state for all the theatres screening the movie in regard to the bomb threats. However the police have turned down the request citing logistical reasons.  Which was exactly the reason Vishwaroopam was stalled too.

Additionally the city's commissioner of police has instructed the makers to take down all hoardings of the film across Chennai.

An official statement on the release date of the movie is still awaited.
