Surya and Karthi's One Crore contribution to Tamil Cinema

Surya has been one among the very few actors of kollywood , who takes social responsibility really serious, Off late Surya has been ever present in providing educational aids to students, meeting his fans and taking part in several social services. The latest on Surya is that he has donated Rs.One Crore to the construction of  preview theaters in South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce which is also known as the Film Chamber.

Surya has made this huge contribution along with his brother Karthi, therefore the Film chamber Management decided to name the theaters after Surya and Karthik , but the actors graciously suggested that rather their father and mother name be used. So official announcement has been that these theaters would be named Sivakumar and Lakshmi.
