Ilayathalapathy Vijay and his Makkal Iyakkam which is run by his fans decided to organize a grand welfare function for noble cause as part of Ilayathalapathy's Birthday Celebration. This welfare function was initially scheduled to happen on June 8 at the Jain college but however the function was suddenly called off and postponed to a later date for reasons unknown.
Vijay in a recent interview expressed his disappointment on the welfare function being cancelled. Here is what Vijay had to say
"Makkal Iyakkam members got prior permission from Jain college for my birthday welfare function and the college authorities immediately granted it. But all of sudden some vested interests have told them that the function has a political motto and in-spite of explaining that it was a normal welfare function, the college authorities said that they couldn't afford. I guess even the police would have thought just like the college authorities. The welfare activities are arranged by my fans and its their money, I'm feeling more sad about my fans when i think about Welfare function cancellation. Because they were the one who worked day and night and spent lakhs of money in order to buy Computers, Auto rickshaw, Sewing machine and more to give it to Poor people during the function.
I can give them their money which they had spent. But, how can i give medicine for the disappointment and the pain which occurred to my fans?
Vijay also added that he didn't have any political motto and doesn't even have the time to contemplate those thoughts as he is continuously acting in movies without any break. He concluded by saying "I'm not like the person who wants to be happy alone on theirs birthday. I want even the Underprivileged people to be happy. And that is the reason i had planned a big welfare function where 3900 underprivileged people would be happy. We can see god in poor's smile, the welfare activities would have brought smile on 3900 poor's life and now thanks to the people who stopped that smile".
vijay the man of mass , and respect their fans... great thalaiva...
