The Mankatha director in a recent interview has once again re-stated the fact that Thala and Thalapathy friendship is indeed very strong and no matter the competition. The Mankatha director revealed that  Ilayathalapathy Vijay was ready to play Arjun's role in the film as a friendly gesture towards Thala's landmark 50th movie.

It's worth mentioning that Thala and Thalapathy have also given the green light for starring together in Venkat Prabhu's direction but both the actors want to be the antagonist in the movie.
